In August 2013, Friends held the RECONNECT Alumni Reunion. Over 400 attended the event in Kansas City. We are excited that over $250,000 was raised that weekend, helping us reach the 10% threshold of our goal of an endowment of $2.5 Million. Many pledged and many were prayerfully considering pledging. If you do wish to make a pledge, email us and let us know.[gn_spacer size=”10″]Our vision is to address these needs with a short-term and long-term strategy.
There is some urgency regarding the future of the work on our campuses. Brett and Bob both retired in 2013, and with these critical transitions we must assure that the financial resources are in place to hire new directors and move ahead with strength. These needs are exacerbated by the fact that ministry funding from traditional sources has steadily declined.
To accomplish this, we are inviting all ministry alumni, family and friends to become Founding Members of Friends with a founding gift or pledge of $500. Together, we can make a real impact on the financial stability and growth of our eighteen collegiate ministries.
We ask you to consider a gift to FRIENDS. Our vision is great and the need is acute. Please join us in praying that the Lord would do a mighty work to the glory of His name. We are trusting God for an overwhelming response of love and support for the vital disciple making campus ministries in Kansas and Nebraska—a love and support that reflects the depth of gratitude we all feel for Bob and Brett and all the other dedicated campus ministry staff who walked with us in faith and spiritual growth during our college days.
The Friends organization has established a foundation for ongoing gifts with National Christian Foundation (NCF) Heartland. NCF provides administrative support and oversight. Through NCF you can make gifts of all types of assets into the fund.
